If I could go back and give myself advice, this is what I’d say.
- Stop trying to please everyone.
- Decide together what your wedding should look like.
- Share your vision with every vendor.
- Then share it again with someone who can help everything run smoothly on the day.
- Don’t feel obligated to follow traditions you don’t believe in.
- Think about the light—it changes everything.
- Build a realistic timeline.
- Laugh more than you cry.
- Bring comfortable shoes.
- Prepare gifts for your guests ahead of time.
- And please don’t think,
“We’ll just film everything on our phones.”
One day, your photographs will become some of the most valuable things you take away from that day.
